DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:
We have several foster homes that take the dog into their home . We also have one country home that will take outside only dogs that can stay in a kennel except for the extreme winter months..
During the time that the dogs are in foster care they are continually evaluated for the appropriate placement. They are also socialized, trained in basic obedience and worked with to correct any behavioral issues.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:
We ask that dogs surrendered either have their shots and heartworm or we ask for a donation of $75. For adoptions,we ask for a donation of $200 for puppies under a year, $175 for dogs aged 1-6 and $125 for dogs over 7 years if possible, to defray costs of upkeep/ spaying or neuter, or any other medical costs. These are just suggested amounts and are negotiable depending on the individual case. We would like to know heartworm status before taking a dog,to be able to prepare a foster placement able to treat them.
In many cases if we are aware of dogs in need, and we have someone looking we will simply refer them. In this case it would be a private adoption, and we would not be involved, either in evaluating the dog or screening the applicant. It would simply be a service to bring the two parties together.

Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:
When we pick up a dog from a shelter, we understand that the shelter has provided care for that dog (food, water, medications, etc.) Therefore, we do not have a problem with paying a fee. In those cases where the shelter does not ask for a fee, we generally try to make a small donation. If we are charged the same fee that the general public pays, we do expect that the dog will be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated.
