Breed Description:
German Shepherds are known for their tremendous loyalty and courage; obedient and eager to learn and love to be close to their families. They come in black & tan, sable, white, black and black w/tan on legs. Height ranges from 24-26 inches for males and 22-24 inches for bitches. Weight averages 77 to 85 lbs. They are handsome, well proportioned and very strong. Life Expectancy around 13 years.

We accept purebred GSDs for fostering in our homes. We do not foster mixes but will put them on our website. We do not accept dangerous GSDs because of liability.

DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:
All of our rescued GSDs are fostered in our homes and are treated as one of the family. They are UTD with vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested & on heartworm preventative, spayed/neutered, x-rayed if there seems to be a problem, taken to obedience classes and behavioral problems addressed, if any.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:
Our policies and procedures are listed on our website. An approved Adoption Application and home visit is required before we set up a meet and greet with the GSD. We ask for vet and personal references. All dogs must be kept inside and be part of the family. We consider all adopters part of our extended family and keep in touch on a regular basis.

Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:
We will pay a shelter fee if we receive a certificate for a spay or neuter & vacs. Other than that, it would depend on the circumstances. Most often we have not had to pay to rescue a GSD in need.
